1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how the Floracle mobile application (“the App”) processes information.

Floracle is developed and operated by VOF Floracle , established in The Netherlands, and is subject to Dutch law and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We value your privacy. We designed Floracle to collect and process only the minimum data necessary for the app to function and for us to maintain and improve its stability and security.

2. Data We Process

Wi-Fi Provisioning

Floracle does not require you to create an account or log in.

The only data you manually enter in the app is:

Wi-Fi network name (SSID)
Wi-Fi password

This data is:

Entered manually by you.
Used only to connect your Floracle device to your home network.
Sent directly from your phone to your Floracle device over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
Not stored in the app after provisioning.
Not transmitted to our company or any third party beyond your device.

Crash Reporting and Diagnostics

We use a third-party service called Sentry (by Functional Software, Inc., USA) to help us detect, diagnose, and fix app errors and crashes.

When an error occurs, Sentry may collect:

Device information (model, OS version, unique device identifiers generated by Sentry).
App version.
Error logs and stack traces.
Approximate timestamp and usage path before the error.
Non-identifying performance metrics.

Sentry does not receive your Wi-Fi credentials or other sensitive control data from Floracle.

The data sent to Sentry is used solely for app stability and performance improvement.

3. How We Use the Data

Wi-Fi credentials: Used exclusively for device setup, never stored or shared.
Sentry crash data: Used to detect bugs, improve performance, and maintain security.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Under the GDPR, our legal bases are:

Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for crash and error reporting through Sentry.
Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) for provisioning your Floracle device.

5. Data Storage and Transfer

Wi-Fi credentials are never stored or transferred outside your phone and Floracle device.
Sentry processes crash data on servers that may be located outside the EU (including the USA).
Where applicable, data transfers are protected by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and other GDPR-compliant safeguards provided by Sentry.

6. Permissions

Floracle may request:

Bluetooth: To discover and connect to your Floracle device.
(If required by Android version) Location: Only to enable Bluetooth Low Energy device discovery; never for GPS tracking.
Local network: To communicate with your Floracle device over Wi-Fi once provisioned.

Permissions are requested only when needed.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

You have the right to:

Access the data we process about you.
Request correction or deletion of your data.
Restrict or object to our processing.
Withdraw consent (for example, by disabling crash reporting in settings if this option is added).
Lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

8. Data Security

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse, including secure communication between your phone and your Floracle device.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in app functionality or legal requirements.

Updates will be posted on our website and, if significant, in-app.
